The main component of ceramic beads is zirconia. This metal is mainly used for various surface treatments, such as sand blasting and shot peening. The production process involves melting high-quality imported zircon sand at high temperatures, and then spraying it into shapes of small balls.

Subsequently, the zirconia ceramic sphere is sieved, and the particles removed via magnetic separation to attain particles with optimal roundness, immense strength and uniform sizes. The spherical particles of the ceramic shot when used for sandblasting give a better surface brightness compared to other products, as the workpiece itself does not change in color.

Ceramic beads find numerous applications in different industries, including aviation parts, stainless steel plates, structural parts, stainless steel kitchenware, medical devices, mobile phone/ laptop shell, automobile chassis/ engine, and sports equipment.



High strength and wear resistance is one of the main characteristics of ceramic shot. Its main component is zirconia, which is characterized by small crystal size and high wear resistance. It has a Vickers hardness (Microhardness) of 700hv and Rockwell hardness of 600hrc, and its density and specific gravity are much higher than that of glass beads.

Since it is difficult for ceramic shot to be broken during sand blasting process, dust generation is avoided. Moreover, ceramic shot sandblasting can produce a smooth satin surface finish at 60-70% lower consumption than glass bead sandblasting. In addition, it is applicable to various metals and nonmetals, such as titanium alloy, magnesium alloy, aluminum alloy, and stainless steel, carbon steel, brass and alloy, acrylic, plastic and other materials. It will not react or oxidize the metal, nor leaving any metal residue, which preserves the color of the workpiece.

Ceramic shot can be used for both dry and wet blasting, and its surface is very smooth, causing minimal wear to the sand blasting equipment. It has a high sandblasting efficiency and long service life with up to 25 recycling times of glass beads. The roundness is also high, with low amounts of abnormal balls and snowman balls adhered between the spheres, resulting in a uniform shot blasting effect.



Besides, shot peening not only has these functions, but also can do sandblasting for satin finish, sandblasting for cleaning, and descaling for large surface.
