White corundum is produced by melting industrial alumina powder at temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees Celsius in an arc furnace, then cooling it. The resulting product undergoes grinding, shaping, iron removal through magnetic separation, and particle size screening to create different products.

The resulting product has a close texture, high hardness, and angular shape, making it ideal for manufacturing ceramics, resin consolidation abrasive tools, and grinding, polishing, sandblasting, and precision casting (investment casting special corundum). Additionally, it can be used to manufacture high-grade refractory materials.

White Fused Alumina, on the other hand, is a pure, transparent Fused Alumina that allows for the production of the whitest vitrified wheels with low levels of soda and silica content. It is the most friable form of aluminum oxide.
