White corundum's thermal stability is extremely high, capable of withstanding high temperatures and its electrical resistivity typically reaches 10^14 Ω-cm. In terms of its optical properties, white corundum is either transparent or translucent, with a refractive index of 1.76, and is often white, though may sometimes appear in a light yellow, light blue, or pink.
