Product Description

Product Description:

3.97 G/Cm3 Density Aluminum Oxide Brown Ceramic Powder

Brown corundum is made of high-quality bauxite as raw material, anthracite and iron filings. It is produced by arc smelting at a temperature which is above 2000°C. Its texture is then crushed and plasticized by a self-grinding machine, while iron is magnetically selected and filtered out. Through sieving, it is categorized into various sizes. Brown corundum has characteristics of being high, dense and spherical, thus making it essential for accurate casting and forming of ceramic, abrasive resin and grinding components. It is also very suitable for polishing, sandblasting and precision casting.

This product contains high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity and low coefficient of linear expansion. Also, it is corrosion resistance. The importance of brown corundum is further extended as the cost-effectiveness it has  is much higher than traditional brown corundum, making it the most ideal aggregate and filler for fused alumina refractories. Additionally, it is totally safe to use with no explosion, no chalking and no cracking during its applicatil.

Features:

Brown corundum used for sandblasting surface treatment typically produces less dust compared to other materials, thus ensuring operator health and safety, as well as improved visibility. Furthermore, this method is more efficient when compared to a traditional sandblasting as the presence of sharp edges efficiently impacts the surface of the object with relatively high pressure.

It requires less abrasive thus creating less wastage, while providing a high-quality surface treatment. Brown corundum is also incredibly environmentally friendly as it is a non-toxic mineral which does not contain any harmful components or elements. Moreover, it is an enduring material and can be reused several times if its cutting ability is maintained.

Technical Parameters:

The chemical constitution of Al2O3 is 96.3% minimum, the SiO2 is 1.4% maximum, Fe2O3 is 0.21% maximum and TiO2 is 1.5% maximum.

The physical properties are colour brown, Mohs hardness 9, true density 3.9 g/cm3, bulk density 1.60-1.95g/cm3 and Ig-Loss is 0.09% colour.

Applications:

Uses of Brown Corundum

Brown Corundum is a form of aluminum oxide and is widely used in many industries due to its excellent hardness, heat resistance, and abrasion resistance. It is used for many different operations, such as wire sawing, precision casting, lining materials, grinding paste, ultrasonic grinding, diamond grinding wheels binding agent, and metal surface treatment. Additionally, it is used in stone materials cutting, dry sanding, coated abrasives, and non-skid flooring materials.

In wire sawing operations, Brown Corundum is used to cut complex shapes in a range of materials. In precision casting, it is used to create accurate components for the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries due to its abrasion resistance. It is also used as a lining material for furnaces and kilns because it resists high temperatures.

Brown Corundum can be used to make grinding pastes for various applications such as optical lens grinding, tool manufacturing and polishing. It is especially suitable for ultrasonic grinding, which is a non-contact machining process commonly used for surface finishing and material removal operations. It is also used as a binding agent in diamond grinding wheels, which are used for high-precision grinding operations.

In addition, it is used for metal surface treatment such as cleaning, degreasing, and polishing. It is used to produce cutting discs for stone and concrete materials cutting, as well as in dry sanding to remove stains and clean surfaces. It is also used to produce coated abrasive products including sandpaper and abrasive belts for surface finishing and material removal operations. Finally, Brown Corundum is used as a non-skid flooring material, providing traction and preventing slips and falls in high traffic areas.
