Product Description

Product Description:

The main component of Ceramic Shot is Zirconia, which is often used for surface treatments such as Sand Blasting and Shot Peening.

The manufacturing process of Ceramic Shot begins with melting high-quality imported Zircon Sand into liquid form with high temperature. This liquid is sprayed into small balls.

These Zirconia Ceramic Spheres are sorted and separated using magnetic separation to obtain particles with high roundness, excellent strength and uniform size.

The spherical particles of Ceramic Shot can result in improved surface brightness when used during the Sand Blasting process, yet the workpiece does not undergo colour change.

Ceramic Shot is highly applied in different fields such as aviation parts, stainless steel plates, structural parts, medical devices, mobile phone/laptop shells, automotive chassis/engines, sports equipment and more.

Features:

Ceramic shot is made of zirconia, which has high strength and wear resistance, small crystal size, and a Vickers hardness (microhardness) of 700hv and a Rockwell hardness of 600hrc.

Ceramic shot won't break easily during sandblasting, and it won't generate dust, giving a high surface finish. In addition, it is up to 60 to 70% lower than the glass bead sandblasting cost with the same specification.

The main advantage of using ceramic shot is its applicability to various metals and nonmetals, such as titanium alloy, magnesium alloy, aluminum alloy, stainless steel and more. It won’t react or oxidize with metal, leaving no metal residue and won’t affect the color of the workpiece.

Ceramic shot is also suitable for both dry sandblasting and wet sandblasting and has a long service life, with the recycling times reaching up to 25 times of glass beads. It has a high roundness, and very low amount of abnormal balls and snowman balls adhered between them.

Applications:

Aerospace Industry
It is used to improve the surface strength of the metal parts in the aerospace industry. It eliminates the stress and reduces the mental weights.
Automotive Industry
It can be applied on automotive gears, aluminum hubs and others, which helps to extend the anti-fatigue life. Stress relieving, peen-forming and peen-straightening processes are adopted to serve such application.
Nuclear and Chemical Equipment
Shot peening is necessary for nuclear and chemical equipment to get rid of surface defects and enhance its resistance to corrosion.
Medical Industry
This technology is extended to cover the medical industry. Sandblasting satin finish, cleaning, deburring and descaling are a few significant applications of shot peening in the medical industry. Besides, it also serves as a pretreatment before spraying and coating.
