Product Description

Product Description:

Brown corundum is manufactured through high-temperature arc smelting with temperatures ranging from 2,000°C and above. It is made from high-quality bauxite, anthracite, and iron filings. Subsequent to the smelt, it is crushed and plasticized using a self-grinding machine and magnetically separated to remove any remaining iron filings. The product is then sieved into various sizes, resulting in dense, hard textures with high spherical pellets.

These brown corundum pellets are most suitable for use in the production of ceramic, in high-resistance abrasive resin grinding, polishing, sandblasting, and precision casting. Additionally, it can also be used for producing high-grade refractories.

Features:

Brown corundum, under a certain pressure, can quickly impact the surface of the object with a large number of sharp edges, so it is regarded as a very fast spray grinding method. The acceleration and velocity of particles in the air flow are a function of inertance and particle size. The smaller the particle, the easier it is to accelerate and thus produce a higher impact force on the surface of the object, so that resulting in a very high cleaning rate, usually twice as fast as other conventional abrasives.

High hardness: Brown corundum’s high Mohs hardness makes it highly effective for abrasive applications because it can quickly remove material from surfaces.

Exceptional wear resistance: Its resilience and capacity to withstand high levels of heat and wear make it an ideal choice for many demanding applications.

High-quality surface finish: Brown corundum particles produce a uniform surface finish with no residual impurities, leaving the surface smooth with a consistent texture.

Consistent particle size distribution: Brown corundum abrasive grains are uniformly sized, which allows for more precise machining.

High strength and durability: Brown corundum abrasive particles are highly resistant to breaking, meaning they last longer and require fewer replacements.

Technical Parameters:

Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3), commonly known as brown alumina, is a solid/crystalline mineral with a hardness of 9 on the Mohs Scale. At a temperature of 2045°C (3723°F) it melts, and its boiling point is approximately 2980°C (5400°F). Its density equals 3.9 g/cm³, its refractive index is 1.76, its specific heat capacity is 0.88 J/gK and its thermal conductivity at room temperature is 30.0-35.0 W/mK. The bulk density of brown alumina is 1.57-1.65 g/cm³, and its grain shape is regular and sharp-edged. It is also non-magnetic as well as having an abrasive hardness of 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. Lastly, its crystal structure is trigonal hexagonal.

Applications:

Griding Metal

Brown corundum is widely used in grinding wheels due to its excellent capabilities of sharpening metal, especially steel, iron, and alloys.

Polishing materials

Polishing of a variety of materials, like glass, stones and metal, can be done quickly and effectively with the help of brown corundum. The shining result of its use is really impressive.

Sandblasting

Applying brown corundum in sandblasting can effectively remove grease, rust, old paint and other stubborn stains.

Refractory materials

Brown corundum is an essential element of the manufacture of refractory materials such as firebricks, furnace linings, ceramic products, and crucibles which can be used in extreme high temperature.

Abrasive blasting kits

Brown corundum is also used in abrasive blasting kits to clean surfaces of different types of materials, including wood, metals, and ceramics.
