White corundum is made from industrial alumina powder, which is melted in arc furnace at a high temperature of more than 2000 degrees. After cooling, it is then shaped by grinding and magnetic separation of iron. Particles sizes are separated into different products.

Grinding, polishing, sandblasting, and precision casting (investment casting special corundum) can also benefit from the material.
