Ceramic beads is a Zirconia based spherical blasting media, with smooth surface and good elasticity, no iron polution, and can be recycled multi time. It performs efficiently both in dry or wet blasting equipment.

 

Ceramic beads also called ceramic media, ceramic bead blasting media, or ceramic blasting beads.It is of high hardness, good elasticity, high gloss and high impact strength. Ceramic blasting beadsmainly used for blast cleaning, debluring, removing oxice layers of castings and forging parts, alsofor metal surface finishing, and pretreatment before coating and plating.

 

Applications:

Sandblasting with ceramic beads can produce a uniform and uneven rough surface on the cleaned surface to facilitate mechanical bonding of the coating. Using clean compressed air to drive clean ceramic sand to spray on the surface of the workpiece can generate compressive stress on the surface of the substrate, remove the surface oxide film, and cause lattice distortion of part of the surface metal, which is conducive to the physical bonding of the coating. The substrate metal can be sandblasted to obtain a clean, rough and highly reactive surface. This is an important preprocessing method.

The quality of the pre-treatment of the sandblasting process affects the adhesion, appearance, moisture resistance and corrosion resistance of the coating. If the pretreatment work is not done well, the rust will continue to spread under the coating, causing the coating to fall off in pieces.

①Because of the spherical and smooth surface of ceramic sand which does not damage the workpiece.With the help of good elasticity, ceramic sand can bounce back from multiple angles in the process of sandblasting, which is very suitable for (metal, plastic) structure complex workpiece, at the same time it has the effect of eliminating stress, improve the service life of the workpiece.

②The breakage rate ceramic sand is low, which can effectively reduce the number of reloading, reduce the cost of materials and workers, so the relative use cost is low and it is cost-effective. Compared with the glass sand, the surface finish is higher and the service life is improved by about 20-30 times. Producing less dust, the working environment is cleaner and environmentally friendly, no potential silicosis, which is beneficial to the health of employees.

③The size distribution of ceramic sand is uniform, and it has no porosity , high toughness, hardness, and impact resistance. High particle density can achieve the sandblasting strength of glass beads at a faster grinding speed. The elastic modulus of ceramic projectile is 330GPa, much higher than that of glass bead 60GPa, and the impact energy is large. To achieve the same shot peening effect in use can reduce the shot peening pressure, high shot peening efficiency, reduce energy consumption, thus reducing production costs.
